TELL CONGRESS TO FUND MEDICAID HOME AND COMMUNITY BASED SERVICES NOW
Congress is actively negotiating the budget reconciliation package, and it is critical that advocates contact their Representatives and Senators now to urge them to strengthen and expand the Medicaid Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) infrastructure and workforce by making the robust investment in HCBS outlined in the Build Back Better Plan and the Better Care Better Jobs Act. These bills propose an investment of $400 billion in HCBS to assist people with disabilities and their caregivers to access services, get off long waiting lists, receive better quality care, and to address the longstanding direct care workforce crisis. A large investment in HCBS is long overdue and will be life-changing for people with disabilities and their paid and unpaid caregivers.
Please call and email your Members of Congress and ask them to pass the Better Care Better Jobs Act (S. 2210/H.R. 4131) and provide $400 billion in funding for Medicaid Home and Community Based Services (HCBS). Funding decisions are being made this week; it is critical that we show our support NOW for a robust funding level for Medicaid HCBS before it’s too late. #CareCantWait, #BuildBackBetter
